Van Morrison at the Ryman
When Van Morrison performed recently for the very first time in Nashville, he chose the legendary Ryman Auditorium to introduce his new country-oriented album, Pay the Devil. To capture this historic event, acclaimed director Danny Clinch's Three on the Tree Productions planned a film shoot, and asked Hank Neuberger to capture the audio. Hank produced the digital multi-track recording on site, with veteran Nashville engineer Billy Sherrill at the desk. For audience and ambiance capture, Hank recorded six channels from a single Holophone H2-PRO mic. "The persuasiveness of this multi-channel mic is why we use it. When you get to re-mix, in surround or stereo, absolutely nothing beats it."
